The term \”Post then Process,\” is my way to describe a new trend I have begun to notice in writing and the overall things I observe. With so many options for social media and self-publishing there is a lot of content being produced. I read a lot of articles, posts, memes, and conversations going on in these spaces but Ive never been very connected to the people making the content.
This observation begins from two separate times in my life where I was made aware of a process of image making and storytelling that I hadn\’t for some reason thought about.
The first time is when I was working with a photographer whose work was in a National Geographic magazine. There was an image that I was in amazement that the photographer was able to capture. I asked them how long they had to stand there waiting for that to happen. He laughed at me and said dude, I didn\’t. I asked them to pose as if they were doing it and photographed it.
The second time was when I was working for a writer as a photo editor. I was given the text to a story and asked to find a relevant stock image. Later the writer and I were talking and she mentioned that she was heading to do (said) thing. That (said) thing I realized was to act out the story she had already written and wanted me to get a photo for. She was writing stories then going and living them out.
This is an unfinished story and thought but its just something I had never thought of.
